Third Thursday Talks
Every Third Thursday on Zoom
(Except December)
As Maya Angelou once said “When we know better, we do better.” Through this informal and informational lecture series, let us learn, and grow, together!
With each talk in this series designed to contain roughly 20 minutes of lecture, and 20 minutes of Q & A, no talk will last longer than an hour. And, with a new speaker every month, there is much to learn!
Check back for updates on topics and presenters. Then, join us when you can on Zoom (Meeting ID: 854 1574 5942).
And, don’t forget to watch previous talks on our YouTube channel!
_____

“Each and every night, REM sleep ushers you into a preposterous theater, where in you are treated to a bizarre, highly associative, carnival of autobiographical themes.” Matthew Walker in Why We Sleep.
In our second Third Thursday Talk we’re going to dive into the world of the imagination network, or default mode network to understand how and why we dream. Dreaming is an internal communication tool that humans are just starting to understand scientifically but we’ve been using this “super power” since before history and science allowed us to study ourselves.
Shannon Harper is a self proclaimed “dream enthusiast” and intuitive thinker, thanks to narcolepsy, a condition she’s had since adolescence. This talk will mix knowledge Shannon has gained from experience and independent study as well as some good fun speculation.
