Interfaith Flower Ceremony Centennial Worship Service
PLEASE NOTE: Because of a scheduling conflict with the Interfaith Forum of Greater Dayton, MVUUF has decided to move our Interfaith Flower Ceremony Centennial so that folx can support both events.
Miami Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship invites the Dayton community to share in
celebration of the 100th anniversary of one of our most treasured rituals, our Flower Ceremony.
WHAT: 100th anniversary of the Flower Service, created to unite a community.
Unitarian minister Rev. Norbert Čapek created the Flower Service to unite his large
congregation in Prague. In the century that has followed, Unitarian Universalist congregations
across the world have shared his service and spread his belief that we are beautiful for both our
commonalities and our differences.
We hope this Interfaith service will become an annual gift to the Dayton community. Please
bring a cut flower of your choice to share with our gathered community.
WHEN: Sunday June 18th, 2023 11:00 AM
WHERE: Miami Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 8690 Yankee St, Washington
Township, OH 45458, USA. Parking is free, and the building is accessible.
WHO: Rev. Kellie Kelly, Minister of MVUUF, will lead the Service. All attendees may
participate in the ritual and exchange of cut flowers, and are invited to bring cut flowers to the service.
A light luncheon will be provided by the MVUUF congregation.
“One spirit, the spirit of love, unites us.” Rev. Norbert Čapek
