Dear Ones,
During our February 8th worship service, Lament in a Time of Horror, we created a collective prayer in the ancient form of lament. If you missed the worship service or would like to watch the service again, you can find the video recording on our website under Worship and Service Recordings or at the below button.
Lament allows us to feel and express our emotions out loud, especially the ones that society teaches us to hide (like sadness, anger, despair, fear, and more). We ask for help and, in the asking, receive a small amount of what we seek. By praying together, we are reminded that we are not alone.I hope our prayer brings you comfort and courage for the days ahead. I pray for your health, growth, and flourishing.
With gratitude and love,
Rev. Kellie
Our Lament, February 2026
Spirit of Life, Nature, Universe,
The Connection Between Us,
Rabbit, My Better Self, God of My Heart:
We feel despair that our country is so divided.
We are frightened by ourselves and each other.
We are overwhelmed and saddened by the widespread cruelty of our federal administration. Even children are not safe from their hate.
We grieve the loss of respect and connection with our family, friends, and neighbors who ignore or even celebrate these inhumane actions.
We dread the next three years of this administration.
We feel anger that greed continues to run and destroy our world.
We feel anger for the administration’s intentional disregard for the truth.
We feel fury at their intentional disregard of the humanity, inherent worthiness, and dignity of those they terrorize, assault, kidnap, and kill.
Spirit of Life, Nature, Universe,
The Connection Between Us,
Rabbit, My Better Self, God of My Heart:
Show us what we can do and give us the courage to do it.
Grant us patience, persistence, and strength to continue the fight.
Give us the focus to keep steady for ourselves and those around us.
Give us joy and laughter, even in these troubled times.
Crack open the hearts of those who cause harm so they can feel compassion for the least among us.
Help us find compassion for those who cause harm.
Remind us that we can indeed make lasting changes for the better.
Remind us that we are not alone—that we are held by a Love that will not let ANY of us go.
And lastly, give us faith that what we each do will be enough.
May it be so. May we make it so.
