Are you ready to speak up and show up for the silenced but don’t know how? “Meet The Moment with Love:  Non-Violence as a Spiritual Discipline and Change Maker” is a one-day interactive workshop that will strengthen resistance skills ranging from righting microaggressions, to reducing systemic racism, to resisting authoritarianism. Workshop leader is Ignite Peace, Greater Cincinnati’s long-standing advocacy organization for antiracism, immigration rights and prison reform. Adults who are Unitarian Universalists are welcome as are teens in grades 9-12 across all faiths.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, March 21, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at St. John’s Unitarian Universalist Church, 320 Resor Avenue, Clifton.  Admission “cost” is a non-heated potluck lunch dish for six (e.g., fruit, salad, sandwiches, chips, dessert). Adults also are asked to make a modest freewill donation, e.g., $10/person. There is no charge for teens. Attendance is limited. Course content includes Unitarian Universalist values, strategies to remediate racist situations and systems, different types of conflict and non-violent direct actions, emotional awareness during conflicts, ”5 Ds” of bystander intervention and de-escalation of volatile situations.

The workshop is the 2026 annual program of the antiracism learning circle, dubbed Building the World We Dream About, sponsored by Unitarian Universalist Council of Greater Cincinnati. Major funding is generously provided by BLUU-Haven of Greater Cincinnati (Black Lives UU).
